The Ground

The Sports Field is privately owned by the Bingham family.

East Drayton Sports Club :   is located on the outskirts of the village approximately half a mile off the A57.

With a brand new pavilion boasting home & away changing rooms, hot showers and a generous sized tea room the sports facility is an ever growing and ever popular local hub of activity.

Set in an 8 acre field the Club offers a full sized football pitch as well as the cricket pitch with an extremely well maintained and managed square which also includes an artificial wicket for juniors and training. The wicket is often regarded by opposing teams as one of the best pitches to bat on in Bassetlaw. This is a testament to the groundsmen Ian & John Bingham.

Also at the ground is an outdoor practice net which is utilised throughout the cricketing season for training sessions with both the 1st team and junior section of the club.

The Club has a 25 year lease on this ground and are expected to continue to improve facilities.    A local team playing Saturday cricket in the Bassetlaw League hired the ground for two seasons and then amalgamated with the club and is still going strong, recently being promoted into Division 4 of the Bassetlaw League.    Through a dwindling squad it was decided to disband the Sunday team to concentrate all efforts into the Saturday XI which is proving to be a success.
