The following Scam is very active at the moment so please be aware...

The delivery of a package for a neighbour that requires payment. The unsuspecting victim pays for delivery in good faith only to find out that when they pass the parcel on it contains worthless junk and the neighbour knows nothing about it. The victim received a call beforehand from a person claiming to be a solicitor who politely requested that the victim receive and pay a taxi driver for the urgent packages the neighbour may not be available The amounts paid each time were in excess of £50.00 each time....

14th April 2011 Overnight on the 14th April an attempt was made to steal a JCB from Church Lane farm in East Drayton several attempts were made but all failed and the digger was left but damaged...

It is becoming apparent that metal in any form especially copper is very much in demand also garden furniture still out is going walkabout , so please do not leave metal piping or furniture lying about in your rear garden it becomes very tempting...

There have been a number of house burglaries and car thefts following the theft of car keys from the properties.

Please ensure that your homes and your cars are secure and that valuables including car keys are kept out of sight in both.

 
 
19th October 2011 [BASSETLAW NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH - Worksop - BNW579/11]

The following scam has been confirmed by the Royal Mail ,could all E mail recipients pass this message on to other members in there schemes not having e mail...

A card is posted through your door from a company called PDS {Parcel Delivery Service} suggesting that they were unable to deliver a parcel and that you need to contact them on 0906 6611911 ( a premium rate number) DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER as this is a mail scam originating from Belize. If you call the number and start to hear a recorded message you will already have been billed £315 for the phone call..

 
     
     
  The Police are asking members of Neighbourhood Watch in East Bassetlaw if they see these vehicles to report it to the Police on 0300 300 9999 or in confidence to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Thank you.
